Your Stash Account
All you need to start Stashing is $5, information to link your bank (online login information or account/routing numbers), your social security number, a U.S. citizenship (or green card and certain visas) and answers to a few questions about yourself.
To open a Stash account or any other brokerage account in the U.S. you must be at least 18 years old.
Yes, the minimum initial deposit is $5.00.
Currently, Stash is only available to residents of the United States where Stash is registered. However, we have plans to expand internationally, so stay tuned!
Your investments with Stash are protected against institutional failure by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). All holdings and cash are held at APEX Clearing Corp. For more information on SIPC insurance, please visit www.sipc.org
Effective November 21st, 2016, Apex Clearing Corp, will no longer offer FDIC sweep programs for uninvested cash in new client brokerage accounts offered through Stash. Existing clients who opened Stash accounts prior to November 21st, 2016 will be subject to minimum account balances of $250k. Clients with balances below this threshold will be removed from the FDIC sweep program within thirty (30) days.
Go to your Account > click the gear icon in the upper right hand corner > select Edit Profile.
No. Your social security number is only used to verify your identity. We don't do a credit check or pull up any information that would affect your credit score.
In some instances, Stash will require additional information to verify your identity to open your account. If that's the case, we ask you to send us a photo of your government issued identification.
To view your bank account information, go to Account, then select Bank Account.
